Montgomery County Courthouse

Montgomery County Courthouse

An F4 tornado virtually destroyed this courthouse in 1999. The several days of rain, following, added significant damage.  WASCO created molds of the existing limestone, which were sent to Bulgaria for castings and molds, and then manufactured the stone, which included intricate carvings.  The structure was determined to need total gutting, leaving only exterior walls standing.  WASCO cleaned and tuckpointed the whole exterior and constructed the millennium stone plaza and fountain.  A new, brick and limestone rotunda was also constructed in the middle of the courthouse.

Construction consisted of restoration cleaning, tuck pointing, new brick and limestone, structural block masonry, crab orchard stone paving, and new granite water fountain.
